It was hard to speak English so I had to travel.
Working as an au pair was common in the eighties, and I did it too for one summer in London. I stayed with an Indian family where I looked after 3 little girls. I have nice memories of that summer. And I learned to cook Indian curries.
I enjoyed the museums there, especially Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood.
I put one picture here. That’s a jack-in-the-box doll that I bought at the flea market in London. It’s one of my first old toys in my collection of more than 2500 dolls and teddy bears.
In 2000 I founded a Doll and Teddy Bear Museum in my house in the South of France. It’s a university of my life.
